Nat Reed, Assistant Secretary of the Interior under President Nixon, helped write the Endangered Species Act

Naturalist Jim Stevenson, former chief naturalist for Florida’s state parks

Fran Mainella, in 2001 became the first woman to run the National Park Service, having previously been the director of the Florida Park Service
