Description: Join leading experts to learn about emerging global movements to create ecocentric laws, with a focus on including "ecocide" as a crime in the Rome Statute and passing laws against ecocide across the globe. The webinar will also explore the connection between ecocide and the "rights of nature" movement, which seeks to establish nature as a subject of rights.

Speakers:
1. Jojo Mehta, who co-founded the UK non-profit Ecological Defence Integrity with legal pioneer the late Polly Higgins in 2017 to support the establishment of ecocide as a crime at the International Criminal Court

2. Herman Greene, who is is president of the Center for Ecozoic Societies in Chapel Hill, NC and an editor of the forthcoming book, Earth Law: Emerging Ecocentric Law—A Practitioner's Guide.

3. Anastacia Greene, who is an Immigration Clinical Fellow with the Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic (IPVAC) at the Levin College of Law in Gainesville, Florida.
