The NMA/Cobb Institute is excited to partner with Florida Clinicians for Climate Action for the Annual Symposium: Climate, Health & Equity on Saturday, February 27th, 2021.

Florida Clinicians for Climate Action is an organization that grew out of a previous Cobb Symposium.  FCCA was co-founded at the 2018 Cobb Symposium by Dr. Cheryl Holder, Dr. Ankush Bansal, and other clinicians. FCCA engages clinicians to learn about climate-health impacts and advocate for equitable solutions.

In this digital reboot of the 2018 Climate, Health & Equity Symposium, we will take a closer look at the health implications for growing and rapidly colliding crises - a warming world, racial inequality, and a global pandemic.  The Cobb Institute has been engaged in multiple discussions about Covid, equity, and disparate health outcomes for communities of color, and we will continue that pandemic discussion with a lens for environmental health & justice impact.

The one-day CME program includes fascinating panels on the following topics:

  • Extreme Heat: A Deadly Climate Risk

  • Intersection of COVID-19 and Climate Health

  • Career Development in Environmental Science and Research

  • Heat Protection Legislation and Lawmaker Outreach
